Prof. Philippe Dubois is awarded an FNR PEARL Chair
On 1 September 2016, world-renowned material scientist Prof. Philippe Dubois will join the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), endowed with a 4 million euro FNR PEARL Chair. Philippe Dubois will strengthen the LIST’s “Smart Materials” initiative and build a new research group in sustainable composite materials (SUSMAT). The aim of his research is to produce new sustainable composite materials out of renewable resources.read this article

Call for Proposals: Funding of bilateral projects with RCN (Norway)

Luxembourg seeks to recruit Chair in Neuropathology
Luxembourg is recruiting for a Chair in Neuropathology; a position endowed with funding from the FNR’s PEARL programme and an invited professorship at the University of Luxembourg. The candidate will be hosted at the Laboratoire National de Santé (LNS), and they will be affiliated with the Luxembourg Institute of Health, in addition to the University of Luxembourg. FNR PEARL Chair receives prestigious research grant from the European Research Council
Professor Lionel Briand, FNR PEARL Chair and Vice Director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg, has been awarded an “Advanced Grant” by the European Research Council (ERC) for his research in the field of software reliability and security. He is the first Luxembourg-based researcher to receive an Advanced Grant, the most prestigious of the European Commission grants. Briand will be receiving 2.3 MEUR in funding over the next five years. This funding adds to a series of recent successes at the University of Luxembourg in acquiring research funding, including two ERC Consolidator Grants.read this article
