FNR Annual Awards 2012

The call for proposals for the FNR Awards 2012 has been closed on 1 April 2012.

FNR Award for Outstanding Scientific Publications

Up to three awards of EUR 5,000 each go to public institutions or public bodies with research mission as well as to individuals or non-profit organisations for articles released in peer-reviewed journals or for scientific monographs.

FNR Award for the Outstanding Promotion of Scientific Culture

Up to three awards of EUR 5,000 each go to public institutions or public bodies with research mission as well as to individuals (teachers) or non-profit organisations. The rewarded activities have successfully contributed to promote scientific culture among Luxembourg’s society during the past calendar year.

Award for Outstanding PhD Thesis

From 2012 onwards, the FNR attributes yearly one “Award for Outstanding PhD Thesis” to an individual who has concluded the PhD with a dissertation of outstanding scientific quality. The purpose of the award is to draw attention to excellent research work and to help the career of the candidate in question.

The “Award for Outstanding PhD thesis” amounts to 5.000 EUR. In duly justified cases the FNR reserves the right to allocate more than 1 award.
