4th Edition of the European Academy for Scientific Explainers (EASE)

From Friday 29 October 2010 to Sunday 07 November 2010

The Science Festival Genova Association is now promoting the 4th edition of EASE European Academy for Scientific Explainers.

The main aim of the school is to create a team of young people with specific knowledge in science dissemination. The School’s mission is to train the scientific explainers of the future, providing young researchers with the fundamental instruments and techniques needed to effectively communicate their knowledge, whereby also realizing the future necessity to promote efficiently their scientific activities of study.

The school organises classroom activity and tutorials, which range from Science communication to organisation, expression and presentation skills, theatrical techniques and dialogue.

The team of scientific explainers trained by this school have the opportunity to take an active part in the

“Festival della Scienza 2010 - VIII edition” which will take place

in Genova (Italy) from 29th October to 7th November 2010.

Scientific explainers also have the chance, during their free time, to visit the Festival: conferences, meetings and practical performances by some of the best speakers from the scientific world.

  • 40 students
  • 9 days training before the Festival
  • 10 days in practical work-based experience during Science Festival: 5 hrs per day

Important

The Accompanying Measure AM2b Training for Researchers incl. Summer Schools of the Fonds National de la Recherche could cover the costs related to the training course (living and travel costs) up to a maximum amount of 2.000 EUR.

Deadline for submission: 6 weeks before the beginning of the training course.
