FP7 Marie Curie Actions Workshop
Tuesday 20 April 2010Luxinnovation, the National Agency for Innovation and Research, and the National Research Fund, Luxembourg’s two national contact points for the FP7 People Programme,
invite to a workshop "FP7 MARIE CURIE ACTIONS - Individual Fellowships for Mobility and Career Development of Experienced Researchers"
which will take place in the presence of François BILTGEN, Minister for Higher Education and Research
on Tuesday 20th April 2010 from 10:30 until 15:30 at the Chamber of Commerce (7, rue Alcide de Gaspéri, Luxembourg-Kirchberg).
The workshop will be held in English, entrance is free. Visitors' parking available.
Breaking Boundaries: Easing International Researcher Mobility
Knowledge knows no limits and yet a multitude of barriers have long stood in the way of international research opportunities. The FP7 People programme is supporting researcher mobility and career development, both for researchers inside the European Union and internationally. It is implemented via a set of Marie Curie Actions, providing fellowships and other measures to help researchers build their skills and competences throughout their careers.
The 7th Framework Programme for Research and Development (FP7) is the EU’s main funding instrument for research, development and innovation.
Calls for Individual Fellowships
3 calls for individual fellowships have been published on 17 March 2010 (deadline 17 August 2010) amounting to a total budget of 151 Mio. EUR:
- Intra-European Fellowships for career development (IEF)
- International Outgoing Fellowships for career development (IOF)
- International Incoming Fellowships (IIF)

Eligible researchers for funding are experienced researchers: research experience ≥ 4 years or PhD holder. Applicants are individual researchers in liaison with potential supervisor / host institution. The workshop aims at presenting the funding schemes, the content of the calls, the application procedures and also aims at exchanging about best practices and potential project ideas. In this respect, bilateral meetings are foreseen during the afternoon session for researchers willing to further discuss their project ideas and receive advice to prepare their proposals before the deadline of the calls.
Furthermore, in order to enhance the chances of success of applicants, Luxinnovation and the FNR will be offering a specific training on how to write a successful proposal under the Marie Curie Actions on 25 May 2010.

13:30 Individual appointments with NCPs (20 mn parallel sessions) upon request
