Summary
The scientific objective of ASINE is to contribute to the formulation of a theory regarding a methodological approach to the design and evolution of services in networked enterprises. The formulation and the validation of the proposed theory will be based on several experiments performed by Tudor in different domains including the financial sector, the construction sector, et cetera. The design and evolution of enterprises in such sectors primarily involves service innovation. Since the design of enterprises and of networked enterprises in particular, needs to cover multiple views on different aspects of the enterprise in a cohesive way, an architecture-based approach is needed.
ASINE is in excellent alignment with the FNR CORE Innovation in Services programme, and moreover since the economy of Luxembourg is strongly service-based, the project has potential for significant economic impact.
The proposed programme of work is aligned with several of the domains of activity of the Henri Tudor especially in the areas of ICT and organisations and enterprise management. The innovativeness and importance of this programme will promote the institution’s international competitiveness and with the appointment of Prof. Proper who is clearly someone working at the leading edge of this field, the centre will be well prepared to carry out this research.
Professor Eric Proper is a leader in the scientific field of Enterprise Architecture who also possesses the ability to adopt a multidisciplinary perspective drawing on both Computer Science and Management and Business Sciences. He has clearly demonstrated his ability to build research teams, to work across cultures and to bridge the divide between academic and commercial partners. With his breadth of expertise in both academia and industry, and his outstanding track record in publications, innovation and fund raising, he will strengthen Luxembourg’s position in international R&D.
