Contact at the FNR: Dr Carlo Duprel

Founded in 1974, the European Science Foundation is an umbrella organisation for national funding organisations and research institutions, with the objective of reinforcing scientific co-operation in Europe. The ESF is primarily a platform for science policy-making organisations but also offers researchers a whole series of funding schemes, which support cross-border research co-operation, networking and the expansion of infrastructures.

EUROCORES Scheme

The EUROCORES (European Collaborative Research) Scheme is a unique framework offered by the ESF to promote collaborative research, networking and dissemination while targeting broad and complex topics of research across all scientific domains at the European level and in a global context. EUROCORES enables researchers to work in joint research projects with colleagues in other European countries and beyond, whilst the funding remains national.

The FNR participates in most of the EUROCORES programmes, giving thus the Luxembourg researchers the possibility to submit project proposals jointly with their foreign colleagues. As for research networking programmes, the FNR strongly encourages the participation of Luxembourg researchers.
