The collaboration agreement between the FNR and RIKEN launched with one call in 2015. In the 2015 call, 1 project was funded, 5 grants awarded. This page will be updated accordingly once information about a 2016 call is available.
Research projects must be based on cooperation between a Luxembourg based eligible research institution and one of the RIKEN research centres.
The majority of the research activities will need to be carried out at a Luxembourg based eligible research institution, i.e. more than 50 % of research time is spent in Luxembourg, under an employment contract. Additionally at least 20% of the research time must be spent at one or several of RIKEN research centres.
The funding available for the 2015 call may cover up to 8 positions.
Funding will be granted up to 4 years for PhD candidates and up to 2 years for postdoctoral researchers according to the rules of the AFR programme.
All applications must be submitted via the FNR Online Grant Management System.
There are two categories of applications:
- Individual applications for a single PhD or Postdoc position. In this case the PhD or Postdoc candidate himself/herself submits the proposal to FNR.
- Collective applications for at least 2 PhD and/or Postdoc positions. In this case the proposal is submitted by a coordinator at an eligible Luxembourg host institution. It is not expected that the respective PhD and/or Postdoc candidates are already known at the application stage.
