The Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) is organising a series of eight café debates around the topic science in society. Supported by the FNR’s PSP-Classic scheme, the next event takes place on Tuesday, 2 October 2018 and focuses on the question ‘Quelles stratégies le Luxembourg déploie-t-il pour attirer les immigrants hautement qualifiés ?’.
This coffee debate will aim to shed light on highly skilled immigration by addressing the issue from several angles. What is the current situation in Luxembourg and how does the country position itself internationally? What makes the country attractive and what factors complicate the recruitment of highly skilled immigrants? How can recruitment and immigration policies be adapted to counter possible failures? What are the prospects for these workers in Luxembourg and does the country have the necessary tools to retain and integrate these people? What are the potential consequences of this increased selection of workers for the different actors in society?
