LuxSpace is currently developing a next generation multi-mission microsatellite called Triton-X to enable affordable satellite applications in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). While first applications are targeting single satellites, future scenarios also foresee applications of constellations or formations of Triton-X satellites. The control of constellations or formations is very challenging and requires a higher degree of autonomy of the Triton-X. Therefore, AuFoSat focuses on a tool that supports the development of autonomous constellation and formation control solutions for the Triton-X comprising state estimation and control algorithms. The development tool is based on MATLAB and the models and algorithms are stored in suitable libraries. Furthermore, the controlled satellite constellations or formations can be simulated, tested and validated in the linked advanced analysis tool STK. Finally, automatic code generation allows the conversion of the algorithms into implementable software.
