Digital Literacy is an essential skill in the knowledge societies, both in private andprofessional lives, hastened by the upraise of connected objects and ambient digitaltechnologies. During the BeeCreative4Kids project the Kniwwelino was developed. It is a micro-controller platform complemented by a visual programming language that enables primary school pupils to carry out their own projects. As the Kniwwelino embeds WiFi connectivity it is possible to set-up connected objects using Internet of Things technologies.Kniwwelino v1 is already available at electronic-shop.lu to serve the existing demand. According to their feedback 300 Kniwwelinos are sold since December. The BBC in UK is distributing 1 Million devices each year to 7th grade pupils beside their sells to the private market. Other European countries are following this initiative. To benefit from this developments, we like to use this opportunity to develop together with an expert, who was involved in the valorisation of the BBC micro:bit, a plan what additional components, re-designs and adjustments are necessary to be able to roll-out Kniwwelino outside of Luxembourg as a sustainable eco-system with a vivid community.
