The Science Mobil is a truck which can be transformed in a 42 m2 large exhibition room. Since 2002, it crosses the country and its neighbourhood, with the goal to awake people’s and in particularly children’s interest in sciences.According to the device “learning by doing”, children are given the possibility to do different scientific experiments during their visit in the Science Mobil. By this hands-on way they can learn a lot about a specific scientific or technical topic. In spring 2012 a new exhibition will be inaugurated. It will treat the scientific characteristics of the things we use in everyday life. So we will reveal fascinating properties and secrets of so trivial things like milk, bread, ink, water, soap and clothes. Even so we use these things every day, we often do not know a lot about their properties. In the new exhibition we will try to find answers to questions like:”Why is milk white and why does it get sour?” “Why does bread taste sweet when it is chewed for a long time?””Where goes the ink when it is erased by the ink eraser?””Why do we need soap to wash?””How well can clothes protect us against UV-rays?”This interactive exhibition is directed to the classes of cycle 3 and 4 of fundamental school, the lower grade of secondary schools and the “régime modulaire”.
