The FNR is pleased to communicate the preliminary results of the 2023 CORE Call. Of 188 proposals, 38 have been retained for funding, an FNR commitment of 26.02 MEUR. For an additional four projects embedded within international collaborations, decisions from FNR’s international partner funding agencies are pending until end of 2023. An additional four projects are on the reserve list. Of the 38 projects, 13 are CORE Junior. 9 of 38 PIs are female. In the biomedical field, three projects pertaining to research relating to the National Cancer Plan are jointly funded by FNR and Fondation Cancer.
CORE is the central programme of the FNR. A multi-annual thematic research programme, the prime objective of CORE is to strengthen the scientific quality of Luxembourg’s public research in the country’s research priorities adopted by the Government on 20 December 2019.
