PROGRAMME SUMMARY
The FNR TREK/JUMP programme consists of 2 distinct tracks (TREK and JUMP), a competitive funding instrument, open to all domains, that is designed to bridge the technical and funding gap between research-driven discoveries and their commercialisation/ utilisation, thereby enhancing the impact of Luxembourg’s research on the economy and society.
The TREK (Technology Readiness Enhancement Kit) track enables projects to progress from TRL 3 to 4 or from TRL 4 to 5 within the funding period. Projects may also advance directly from TRL 3 to TRL 5 through a single TREK grant application. TREK supports the advancement in the technology readiness level (TRL), improved proof-of-concept prototype, and preparation of a commercialization study report.
The complementary JUMP track supports projects in reaching TRL 6 and beyond with the aim of achieving potential commercialization outcomes such as licensing agreements or the formation of start-ups that can carry the research innovation to market.
