We’re looking for bold and out-of-the box science challenges! After Take Off is before Take Off: Just as season 3 starts to air, we’re already getting ready for season 4, and we want your ideas. We’re inviting scientists, makers, engineers, educators, creatives, and curious minds to brainstorm and propose exciting challenges for upcoming episodes.
The theme can be creative — we welcome anything from hard sciences to everyday topics like music, sports or even cheese fondue (stay tuned for this one in Season 3) and beyond.

What Makes an Ideal Take Off Challenge?
We’re looking for challenges that are solvable by logic, visual, fair, and fun to watch. Here are the key principles to keep in mind:
Types of Challenges
- Team Challenges
Three teams (up to four people each) compete. Solving time: 60–90 minutes.
- Duel Challenges
Two contestants face off, and one is eliminated. Solving time: ~15 minutes
- Solo Challenges
Later in the season, contestants compete individually (up to six in parallel).
General Criteria
- Objective & Measurable: The result and winner must be clearly defined.
- Visually Engaging: The challenge should be exciting to watch.
- Clear Rules: Simple, transparent rules that still allow creativity.
- Multiple Solutions: Different approaches should be possible.
- Fair Winning Conditions: Either fastest completion or best result after a fixed time.
- Safe: No risk to contestants or teams.
- Accessible: No specialized prior knowledge required — logic, creativity, and teamwork should be enough. If needed, we can provide brief instructions or training to the contestants.
