The FNR hereby launches the 2024 CORE Call for proposals. Deadline for submission is 17 April 2024, 14:00 CET. CORE is the central programme of the FNR. A multi-annual thematic funding programme, the prime objective of CORE is to strengthen the scientific quality of Luxembourg’s public research in the country’s research priorities.
The call deadlines of CORE and OPEN are both on Thursday, 17 April 2024 at 14:00 CET. The PI(s) and the host institution(s) are responsible in selecting the appropriate funding programme. Please contact FNR upfront in case of questions. If a same project is submitted in both programmes, it will not be reviewed and excluded from the selection process.
New for 2024
- In recent years, the FNR has noticed a strong increase in the number of applications as well as in the budget requested in CORE projects. To re-emphasize that CORE is a funding scheme for focused research projects, in the 2024 call applicants have to explicitly justify the human resources requested if the FNR financial contribution for personnel exceeds 2 full time equivalents (FTE). As a reminder, the FNR would like to highlight that the majority of projects previously selected for funding have requested between 1 and 2 FTEs.
- The bibliography has been separated into two sections where applicants indicate important outputs from the consortium that are relevant to the proposal and the general bibliography for the proposal.
- It is now possible to also submit CORE Bilateral projects with Quebec FRQ (Canada) (announced 1 February 2024)
