It is with a lot of regrets that we announce our decision to cancel the 2020 edition of the Researchers’ Days.
Over the past three months, we elaborated different scenarios for the event and also collaborated with national event agencies and the Luxembourg Event Association to make ourselves familiar with national and international guidelines that apply for events engaging large audiences. We really tried hard to make the event possible, despite of the current context of COVID-19. But considering all the facts and the responsibility the FNR has as an organiser towards all the many participants, we concluded that, given the hands-on character and the size of the event and the uncertainties around the future evolution of the pandemic, we unfortunately need to cancel the Researchers’ Days 2020 and foresee the next edition for 2022.
The whole research sector is growing, public engagement gains momentum and “Research Luxembourg” did a fantastic job in these challenging COVID-19 times to jointly put its efforts in the service of the public. It would have been a great moment to celebrate our research sector by the end of the year and to show how fascinating and inspiring research in Luxembourg is. Unfortunately, it won’t happen this year. But we will do our very best to organise a great event in 2022, with the help of all your dedication and creativity, in order to inspire the young and not so young generations in and around Luxembourg.
Have you submitted an application for this year’s event? We strongly encourage you to apply with your workshop for the next Science Festival, that will take place in November 2021 – or for the edition 2022 of the Researchers’ Days.
